Part 2: Family-Roasted — The Coffee That Runs in Our Blood

If you want to know how serious we are about our coffee, just sit in on one of our family tasting sessions.

Picture this: three generations crowded around the kitchen table. Mugs in hand. Steam rising. Notes being taken. Feedback flying. Laughter always present. Some sips are followed by nods of approval, others by raised eyebrows and "Needs more punch," or "Too acidic for Grandma." And every voice counts.

At Jaggers Coffee Express, we don’t just say we’re a family business—we live it.

☕ A Roast for Every Relative

Our family isn’t just along for the ride—they’re co-pilots. Every blend we sell has been taste-tested and approved by the people closest to us. Their preferences? All over the map. And that’s what makes our coffee lineup so special.

  • Jon’s 101-year-old grandmother drinks our Bali Blue. Her secret? A strong cup every morning—and a good sense of humor.

  • Deb’s mom, 95, starts every day with our Safari Sunrise, a light, bright single origin from Kenya.

  • Cousin Danny can’t get enough of Lone Star Lasso, our boldest blend—he calls it "cowboy coffee done right."

  • Nephew Bryce is basically our in-house coffee snob—uh, we mean connoisseur. His obsession with single origin Mexico beans inspired the launch of Mayan Gold, our first whole bean-only roast.

Even the branding ties back to them. Each label is designed to reflect the family member most connected to the blend. It’s not just clever—it’s heartfelt. When you pick up a bag of our coffee, you’re holding a piece of our story.

👨👩👧👦 Coffee That Connects Generations

One of the most memorable moments we’ve had as a family business came at our last family reunion. We brewed Lone Star Lasso by the gallon and set it out on a long table surrounded by cinnamon rolls, biscuits, and way too much homemade jam. Before long, the coffee wasn’t just fueling conversation—it was the centerpiece.

Stories started flowing. Old tales got told for the hundredth time. Laughter echoed through the house. It reminded us exactly why we started Jaggers Coffee Express: coffee connects people.

Coffee brings everyone to the table.

💡 Not Just Family—Family Standards

Here’s the thing: our family is brutally honest. If a roast doesn’t cut it, they’ll say so. That’s why every blend you see on our site is already battle-tested by people who genuinely care.

No product makes it through unless:

  • It tastes great black and with cream

  • It’s smooth enough for Grandma

  • It can be shared proudly with guests

  • It sparks that “Whoa, this is good” reaction from our market booth customers

This isn’t a gimmick—it’s our quality control system. Built-in. Unfiltered. Unpaid.

In our next post, we’ll show you the behind-the-scenes journey: how we choose which farms to work with, why roast profiles matter, and what we’ve learned from endless cuppings and trial roasts.

Because every bean has a story—and it’s our job to help tell it.
